Parajeckas' team narrow the gap

front-running Rolling Road after the second round of the 22nd Annual Lobster Pot Invitational Championships.

Rolling Road, of Catonsville, Maryland, led the two-ball best-ball Pro-Am tournament by five shots after the first day but saw that lead slashed to three over Woburn before the team portion of the week-long event at Castle Habour takes a two-day hiatus.

The Charity Pro-Am will be played today followed by the 18-hole pro championship on Thursday, with the 54-hole team tourney wrapping up on Friday.

The popular Parajeckas, coming off a win in the Belmont Invitational last fall, led his team of Ed Krug, Fritz Reiter and Johnny Pereira to a 14-under 128 yesterday and a two-day net total of 257. Rolling Road, led by pro Billy Bassler, managed a 131 to go along with an opening-day 123 and 254-hole net total.

Eagles Golf Club were third with a 260, including a day-low 127 in difficult conditions yesterday.

Thirteen of the 28 teams survived the cut of 271; the other 15 will take part in a consolation round.

Huntington Golf Club, second in net after the first day, still led the gross division with a 144 and two-day sum of 283. Rolling Road were second on 288, including a 148 gross yesterday.
