Title sponsor ACE Limited yesterday announced that the Samuel L. Jackson Celebrity Golf Classic will be held from June 3 to 7.

And the event will now be known as the ACE Insurance Samuel L. Jackson Celebrity Golf Classic.

The inaugural Celebrity Classic was held last May and raise almost a quarter of a million dollars for charity.

Chairman, president and chief executive officer of ACE Limited Brian Duperreault said: "As title sponsor, we have again chosen the charity that I am involved with, The Council Partners Charitable Trust. Mr. Jackson has chosen his charity, The Catalog for Giving.'' Both charities will equally share the proceeds from the event.

Aside from a new name, this year's tournament will also feature an expanded schedule.

The Classic will get underway on June 3 with an appearance by Samuel Jackson and other celebrities during the Harbour Nights Festival on Front Street.

June 4 will feature the Celebrity Amateur Team Scramble at the Port Royal Golf Course in Southampton and a beach party at the Elbow Beach that evening.

The Celebrity Amateur Stroke Play will be held on day three which will be followed by an early evening cruise to the Maritime Museum and the Bermuda Shorts Comedy Show.

The Classic concludes on June 6 with the Celebrity Golf Championship and a gala dinner that evening.

A charity cheque presentation and a farewell brunch will be held June 7 before the celebrities depart.

ACE Insurance is joined by the Department of Tourism, Elbow Beach and the US based international chain The Gap.
