Visitors catch thief Guests staying at Pompano Beach Club were the victims of three theft incidents in a matter of hours over the weekend.
One man was chased and caught by visitors after he leapt from a balcony early on Sunday morning, minutes after two other men were discovered at another room.
During the struggle two of the visitors were slightly hurt, one with a bite mark to the leg and the other with bruising to the left eye.
Police reported the first incident on Saturday afternoon at the South Shore accommodations, when a female guest had cash stolen from a handbag left on a table in the room.
At 6.10 a.m. the next morning, a male guest awoke to see an intruder in his room, bent down by the side of his bed. He challenged the man, who was wearing a hooded jacket, but he managed to escape.
He then noticed another man on the patio, but he too escaped.
Twenty minutes later a male guest was awoken by his wife screaming and spotted a man jumping off his patio. He gave chase and two other visitors managed to intercept the man.
He was detained and taken to Somerset Police station.
