Visitors robbed
approached by a man brandishing a knife.
Police said the robbery occurred at 12.30 a.m. yesterday when a couple walking from South Shore Road down to the hotel were approached by a man demanding their money.
They handed him their wallet containing cash and credit cards. The thief ran off down South Shore Road.
A Police spokesman said the couple were not hurt in the incident.
The first robbery, which occurred in November last year in the same area, also involved two visitors who were walking back to the hotel.
A man carrying a knife came up behind them and demanded money.
In that case, the husband of the couple was able to talk the man out of stealing from them after which the man ran off.
Police describe the thief in the most recent robbery as a 5- foot, 10-inch tall dark skinned male wearing a white and black shirt, white shorts and a helmet.
Anyone who may have seen a person answering this description in the vicinity during Monday evening or the early hours of yesterday morning is asked to contact Somerset CID at 234-1010.
