in Trinidad on Monday night, to add to the bronze medal she won on Saturday.

Gosling powered home in 2:40.21 to set a new national and age group record in the 15-17 girls 200 metres backstroke.

Two days earlier, she had earned Bermuda's first medal of the championships when she finished third in the 100m backstroke.

Bermuda's four other Monday night finalists all failed in their medal bids, although William Massey swam another quadruple A time of 1:01.73 to set a new long course age group record in finishing fifth in the 11-12 100 metres freestyle. Massey was also seventh in the final of the 110 metres butterfly.

Jenny Gosling finished sixth in the girls 15-17 100 metres butterfly, while Jean Richardson was eighth in the 100 metres freestyle in the same age group.

Yesterday, on the final day of competition, Massey was once again in the limelight. This time, in the heats of the 50 metres freestyle, he recorded another quadruple A time of 27.58, shattering Stephen Fahy's two-year-old record of 29.26, and boosting his hopes of a medal in last night's final.

Fahy too, was in action yesterday, breaking his own long-course record in finishing ninth in the 13-14 boys 200 metres individual medley. Fahy's time of 2:30.76 was a triple A time and took a second off the record he set at last year's CCCAN in Mexico.

He and Trevor Ferguson also swam triple A times in the 50 metres freestyle but they did not reach the final.

Bermuda's boys 11-12 and girls 15-17 medley relay teams were also involved in finals last night.
