The break-in to Kriss Kross Records was discovered by Police at about 2 a.m.
The cash register was worth about $300 and contained a small amount of loose cash.
P.c. Gary Venning of Police Community and Media Relations said such losses could likely be avoided.
"Storekeepers may help to prevent this type of senseless crime by ensuring that cash registers are left empty overnight with the drawer open, and, where possible illuminating the area to indicate to a potential thief that there is no money in the till,'' he said.
