Police seek prevention officer
invited to apply for the post of crime prevention officer with the Police Service.
The crime prevention officer is responsible for field operations, research and development and also lecture on the topic to the public at schools, businesses, and community groups.
A minimum of three years in law enforcement, security or a related field is required as is experience with public speaking, report writing, and a good command of English and Microsoft software.
The successful applicant will: Visit homes and businesses to analyse prevention issues and offer recommendations; Create displays of security equipment and make them available to interested groups; Be proactive in launching initiatives in response to crime trends; and Lecture at the Police training school.
The crime prevention officer must also meet with senior Police personnel to acquire skills and awareness of the latest crime prevention techniques.
The postholder reports to the officer in charge of the crime prevention unit who reports to the community relations officer.
The closing date for applications for the $41,908 to $45,113 a year post is July 21.
