Cable ships visit Island
On Sunday the Somers Isles arrived carrying 85 containers, including two refrigerated containers, two boats, a truck and numerous bundles of lumber, steel and piping.
She departs the next day to Fernandina Beach, Florida.
Today the Bold Endeavour , a cable repair ship from the UK, will be sailing two to ten miles offshore for sea trials to test the manoeuvrability and the operations of the vessel as it is a brand new ship launched on December 1, 1999. On January 25 it will sail to Italy.
Tomorrow, the Bermuda Islander will be arriving at 8 a.m., carrying 80 containers, including 14 refrigerated containers and will be departing the next day at 8.05 a.m.
Also tomorrow, the Baltimore cable repair ship Global Link will be arriving from Martinique to offload excess cable and is scheduled to depart for Baltimore the same day.
