The Bank of Butterfield was the only gainer on the Bermuda Stock Exchange yesterday, jumping $1.25 on light volume.

The stock closed at $33, still more than $1.60 below its high for the year, on volume of just 150 shares.
The trade pushed the Exchnage Index up 12.47 points, to close at 1,175.37. In other bank activity, the Bermuda Commercial Bank remained unchanged at its best 1994 price of $12 each on a volume of 1,030, while the Bank of Bermuda traded at a volume of 126 at an unchanged price of $22.50, also its high for the year.
Bermuda Press, with a 1210 share trade, finished unchanged at $8 each. BF&M was unchanged at 46.75 on volume of 325.
The only other active issue was 95,000 Bank of Bermuda 9% convertible notes at $105.
