CURE launches website
The website will provide information on the organisation's activities and generate discussion among the public on subjects of racism and discrimination.
Development, Opportunity and Government Services Minister Terry Lister said he was delighted that the organisation was using modern technology to become more accessible to the public.
He said: "This is a unique opportunity for us to reach large numbers of people worldwide with information on CURE's policies and activities to increase awareness on a sensitive area that is often not understood. We are hoping that this will be a means of building lines of communication and understanding among the public on these emotive issues.'' The site includes a wide range of information, including the Code of Practice for the Elimination of Discrimination and the Promotion of Equality and Opportunity in Employment.
In addition to the information there is also a chat line for line conversations and a discussion board for on-line debates.
The e-mail addresses for the site, which starts up today, are cure y ibl.bm and racial y ibl.bm.
