Trading heavy on exchange
Bermuda Stock Exchange yesterday.
Over $1.5 million of this amount came from trading of the Bank of Bermuda's nine percent notes, which closed unchanged at $1075 on a volume of 14,000.
There was $494,000 worth of trading in BF&M's nine percent preference stock, which stayed at $12, with the day's highest volume of 41,200.
The only share price movement was in Bermuda Commercial Bank, whose stock gained the 25 cents it had lost the day before to close at $9.50 on a volume of 3,955.
Also trading unchanged were the common stocks of BF&M, which closed at $10 on a volume of 5,018, and the Bank of Butterfield, which ended the day at $281 on a volume of 5,000.
Argus Insurance Company stayed at $11 on a volume of 8,419 and the Bank of Bermuda's common stock traded at 23.25 on a volume of 2,680.
