St Paul Re names senior execs
Executives have been named to two senior management positions at St. Paul Re, the reinsurance operation of The St. Paul Companies; William Robbie, as chief financial officer, and Michael Lombardozzi, as general counsel.
Upon completion of the initial public offering of Platinum Underwriters Holdings, Ltd., the Bermuda-based reinsurer to be formed from The St. Paul's ongoing reinsurance operations, Robbie and Lombardozzi will be appointed to the same posts at Platinum Underwriters. The initial public offering for Platinum Underwriters is in registration with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, and has been temporarily postponed in light of current market conditions.
St. Paul Re president and chief executive officer Jerry Fadden said: "Bill and Michael complete our senior management team. They bring excellent experience and strong marketplace reputations to their new posts."
Mr. Robbie has been with XL Capital Ltd., since 1997. Earlier, he was senior vice president-treasurer at XL Capital and executive vice president, chief financial and chief administrative officer of XL Mid Ocean Reinsurance in Hamilton, Bermuda.
Mr. Robbie also has held senior management positions with several insurance companies including The Prudential Insurance Company of America, The Continental Corporation, Monarch Capital Corporation and Aetna Life & Casualty.
Mr. Lombardozzi was previously senior vice president-planning and operations of W.R. Berkley Corporation in Greenwich, Ct.
Lenzen named as ACE Vice President of claims and claims counsel
ACE Bermuda Insurance Ltd. has named John Lenzen to the position of senior vice-president, claims and claims counsel.
The company said Mr. Lenzen will provide claims-related legal counsel and support to ACE's Bermuda-based operations and will manage the day to day operations of ACE Bermuda's Claims Department, reporting to Frank Lattal, executive vice president, general counsel and secretary.
Mr. Lenzen previously practised insurance law at the New Jersey law firm of Connell Foley LLP.
Mr. Lenzen earned his bachelor of arts and juris doctor degrees at Rutgers University and is currently completing his MBA at the University of Michigan with emphasis in finance, corporate strategy and business economics. He is a member of the bars of New York, New Jersey and Michigan.
