completed and printed in a few weeks, the Corporation of Hamilton announced yesterday.

The Corporation has received the final draft of the inquiry, conducted by American shipping and cargo handling expert Mr. Joseph Barbera, and is now reviewing it, Corporation secretary Mr. Roger Sherratt said.

"There are still a couple of amendments to be made,'' he said. "We don't have the final report yet but it will be completed and printed in several weeks.'' Mr. Barbera, of New Jersey, was hired by the Corporation as a direct result of problems which began in January between Stevedoring Services and its unionised employees with a go-slow by workers over an overtime ban.

The dispute peaked last summer when truckers refused to move containers off the docks. In August, dock workers were awarded a 13.5 percent pay rise over two years by American arbitrator Mr. Lawrence Seibel, who also settled other contract disagreements.

"Mr. Barbera met with various groups of people and it's clear he's taken the concerns of these people into account in making his recommendations,'' said Mr. Sherratt.

"It's quite a comprehensive report and it has far reaching recommendations with regard to Hamilton docks.''
