Pearman can't be stopped

But not even the Island's number one player will be happy after the Mid Ocean Club continued to send scores rocketing.

Pearman show.

But not even the Island's number one player will be happy after the Mid Ocean Club continued to send scores rocketing.

Pearman, the defending champion opened up a near insurmountable 14-stroke lead after two rounds of the $4,200 tournament -- despite following up Monday's 67 with a round of 73 yesterday.

As it turned out the 73 was the lowest score of the day, followed by a 75 by Eardley Jones, who moved into second spot, a stroke up on Steve DeCosta and Kim Swan, tied for third with a two-day total of 155.

"These scores are ridiculous,'' offered DeCosta, the Mid Ocean Club pro. "I mean I shot a 76 and it felt like a 90.'' Conditions remained ideal and DeCosta said the course is "there for the taking'' but not even Pearman could take advantage of it, with a bogey and a double bogey included in his round.

Swan, Pearman's partner on Bermuda's team that competed at the World Championships last fall, soared to an 83 yesterday after opening with a 72.

Third round goes today, with the final round tomorrow.
