second annual recognition awards to, from left, US Navy Lt. John Wheeler, Capt. Simeon Riley of the MV Wendarbar , and Cmdr. Kit McCulley. The awards go to those whose endeavours in water safety or search and rescue are exemplary.

Lt. Wheeler and Cmdr. McCulley are in charge of the base's helicopter search and rescue crew. Capt. Riley uses his St. George's-based charter boat to help in search and rescue missions. All three men received recognition certificates, while a plaque with their names was installed at Marine and Ports.
