Elbow Beach opening delayed
be delayed by approximately one month.
Elbow Beach Hotel is now set to re-open in the middle of October rather than September 14 as previously forecast, general manager William Shoaf said yesterday.
"Mother Nature has made us humble this year,'' he said.
Bad weather during the summer slowed multi-million dollar renovation work at the hotel and pushed back the opening of the property from May to September.
Now further delays have been caused by Hurricanes Bonnie and Danielle which played havoc with the arrival of new furniture and furnishings for the property from the US.
Some furniture has not even left the factories it was constructed in because of the bad weather while the presence of the hurricanes in the Atlantic has seen cargo bound for the hotel bumped from container ships.
The opening is now tentatively scheduled for the middle of October, said Mr.
Shoaf -- provided no further delays occur.
