The Bermuda Insurance Institute will be hosting two workshops facilitated by Insight Partners.

The first on October 27 is the ever popular Negotiation Skills Workshop. Should you register for this workshop, it is recommended that you read ?Getting to Yes: Negotiating Agreement Without Giving In? (Roger Fisher and William Ury with Bruce Patton for the 3rd edition, 1991).

This book and the one below can be ordered through any of the local bookshops and on Amazon. Please note that this workshop is a pre-requisite for Advanced Negotiation Skills and will not be offered again until July, 2006.

The second workshop on October 28 is the Effective Communications Workshop (which focuses on dealing with difficult conversations) whose goal is to arm participants with increased confidence in their ability to improve their communications skills in both routine and challenging situations.

This workshop has also been very well received and as I had the privilege of attending it last July, I can now personally recommend it.

Should you register for this workshop, it is recommended that you read ?Difficult Conversations: How to Discuss What Matters Most? (Douglas Stone, Bruce Patton and Sheila Heen, 1999). This workshop will also not be will not be offered again until July, 2006.
