East End set for election

Three names have been put forward so far following former town councillor Mr.
Ross Smith's election as Alderman on October 30.
The deadline for nominations is today at 1 p.m. In the event of a contest, December 8 has been slated as election day.
The Royal Gazette understands businessman Mr. Terry Roberts, the son of former St. George's mayor Mr. Norman Roberts, is in the running.
Also believed to be seeking the post are travel agent Mr. Gary Kent Smith of Travel Connection-Bermuda in St. George's and Mr. Louis DeSilva who works for his father at Hi-Span Construction.
The winner would join common councillors Mr. Shirley Gibbons, Mr. Randolph Dowling, Mr. Jimmy Williams and, serving his first term, Mr. E. Michael Jones.
The Corporation of St. George's is made up of the Mayor the Wor. Henry Hayward, three Aldermen and five town councillors.
