series of meetings.

Information Minister the Hon. John Barritt said the format of the public meetings will be similar to those held in the lead-up to the August 16 Independence referendum.

Premier the Hon. David Saul and Cabinet Ministers who join him "will not be making speeches'', Mr. Barritt said. "Their intention is to answer questions, and to try to enter into a dialogue with their audiences which will result in new ideas about how to tackle Bermuda's problems, and perhaps a better understanding.'' Thursday's meeting, at which Dr. Saul will be joined by Finance Minister the Hon. Grant Gibbons and Home Affairs and Public Safety Minister the Hon.

Quinton Edness, is set for 8 p.m. at Cathedral Hall in Hamilton.

Others, at which the Premier and other Cabinet Ministers will be on hand, will be held about ten times a year, in all parishes, Mr. Barritt said.

"It is hoped these functions will held establish closer contact between the Government and the public,'' he said.

At meetings held during the lead-up to the referendum, Dr. Saul and other Ministers "were impressed by the positive and constructive response of their audiences, and felt the meetings provided another excellent opportunity for a two-way exchange of information''.
