Women's resource centre to look at sex and youth day
month.
The Women's Resource Centre is organising a series of free workshops on the topics.
And it is hoping as many young people as possible will take part.
The first workshop, "Changing Relationships'', is aimed at Primary 7 youngsters.
"It is aimed at helping children make the transition from primary to secondary school,'' explained WRC spokeswoman Miss Margaret Swift.
The second workshop, "Youth Sex And The Law'', is targeted at 12 to 14-year-olds.
Said Miss Swift: "It will discuss sexual behaviour, the risks involved, and what is unlawful carnal knowledge.
"It will also discuss peer pressure and how to deal with it at school.'' Miss Swift said a third workshop, "Relationships And Sexuality'', would focus on 15 to 16-year-olds.
"Subjects for discussion will include choices facing teenagers, how they can cope with pressure from the media and peers, and also how they can deal with violent relationships.'' The final workshop, "The College Experience'', is geared for those preparing to enter College.
Miss Swift said most of the workshops would take place at the Bermuda Industrial Union headquarters, throughout mid-July.
Those wanting to register or to get more details about times and dates should ring the WRC on 295-3882.
