The youths, one of which was in a school uniform, began to verbally attack the driver after she asked them to stop eating on the bus.

When they refused to cease, she stopped the bus on North Shore Road, near to Claytown at Bailey's Bay, and called in Police.

Traffic had to be diverted around the narrow lanes, as a result of the incident, until Police had arrived on the scene and the boys were able to get off the bus, which was heading to the east end.

A Police spokeswoman said the incident at about 4 p.m. yesterday was one of three similar complaints about annoying teenagers on board of buses throughout the day.

Police also received a complaint from a bus driver about students on his bus as he drove along Cashew City in St. David's at about 4.15 p.m. yesterday.

The spokeswoman warned students that Police would take a serious view of any similar incidents.
