Regiment's canteen.

Shawn Woolridge, of Vermont Valley Road, Smith's, admitted breaking into the Warwick Camp canteen and stealing beverages and food worth $576.90.

Prosecuting, Sgt. Peter Giles told Magistrates' Court that between 9 p.m. on January 31 and 9 a.m. the next day, Woolridge, an accomplice with Reymon Antoine White who was charged in March, broke through a bathroom window to gain access to the canteen.

A large quantity of food and drinks were stolen. Police inquiries led to Woolridge and White.

Acting Magistrate the Wor. Kim White asked Woolridge: "Why did you want to take out of the mouths of soldiers? You had a clear record before this.'' Woolridge replied: "I had nowhere to live at the time and I was involved with drugs and alcohol. But I'm straight now and I'm trying to get myself organised.'' A probation report will be prepared by August 18.
