Long distance calls cheaper
following a price cut by Cable & Wireless and Telco.
Calls to countries such as Aruba, China, Israel and the Philippines, that used to cost $3 a minute, will now cost $2.75.
Calls to places like Alaska, Brazil, Hawaii and Japan, that used to be $2.75 a minute, now drop to $2.50.
Telco general manager Mr. Ernest Pacheco said: "Last year we had reductions on some countries in Europe and now there's a number of other countries that are being reduced.
"This is an ongoing effort on the part of Cable & Wireless and ourselves to reduce rates.
"Countries are reviewed from time to time and when reductions can be made they are made.'' Mr. Pacheco denied the move was anything to do with new phone services, claiming cheap rates, that are hoping to get Government licences.
