Danielle was upgraded from a tropical depression yesterday afternoon with maximum sustained winds at about 40 knots.

At 6 p.m. last night Danielle was located near latitude 14.4 north, longitude 38.8 west at about 1,849 nautical miles southeast of Bermuda moving in a west northwesterly direction at about 18 knots.

Meanwhile Hurricane Bonnie lurked off the Bahamas yesterday, worrying forecasters who said the category three hurricane could roll toward the US eastern seaboard.
