New faces added as BCBC ponder squad

to Jamaica for the Red Stripe Bowl Championship "in the next day or two'', according to president El James yesterday.

The Board called an important meeting for all training squad members last night when they were expected to determine which players were available. The Royal Gazette disclosed on Saturday that two players had failed drug tests and would not be considered for selection.

As a result, some five players, including Police batsman Dennis Archer, St.

David's pair Del Hollis and Kameron Fox, and Cleon Scotland of Western Stars, have been drafted into the training squad. A scheduled training session on Sunday was reportedly poorly attended.

After allegations of marijuana smoking in Malaysia during the ICC Trophy, which eventually led to the previous administration under president Ed Bailey being ousted, the new executives vowed that all players would be drug tested prior to flying to Jamaica.

The Bermuda team will leave next week and will play three Zone A matches in Jamaica. The first will be against Trinidad and Tobago at Chedwin Park in St.

Catherine near Spanish Town on Saturday, October 4.

The next day Bermuda play the Windward Islands at the Melbourne Ground in Kingston and will play their final match against hosts Jamaica at Alpart in Mandeville on October 8.
