4-1 win over St. David's are unfounded.

Rumours have been rife over the weekend that the Trojans fielded a player who did not have an ID card in the March 7 match and that they might lose the points, which would have a bearing on both the championship and the second relegation pictures.

But it was confirmed yesterday by the BFA that the player in question, teenager Keion Simmons does not require a card as he registered in the Bantam Division. The same applies to team-mate Kwame Tucker who scored the Trojans winning goal in the Martonmere Cup final back in November. According to the BFA, Bantam players are just required to sign the team sheet.

Nevertheless, St. David's saw this development as a possible lifeline to First Division survival, having been relegated on Sunday with a 1-1 draw against St.

George's. Apparently they got news of a player playing without a card from a BFA official who mentioned it to a St. David's official.

The club was expected to discuss the matter prior to last night's AGM, though club secretary Stuart Crockwell admitted yesterday to knowing little about the situation. The club was waiting to hear from the association to clear up the matter.

"It's just hearsay, we'll have to check it out,'' he said yesterday. "We can't commit ourselves on assumptions.''
