the University of Southern California's new Wrigley Institute for Environmental Studies.

Anthony Michaels, a faculty scientist at the Bermuda Biological Station for Research (BBSR), came to Bermuda in 1989.

While at BBSR, Dr. Michaels was behind the station's major global change research programmes and was involved in the creation of the world-renowned Risk Prediction Initiative.

BBSR director Tony Knap said his colleague's departure was a tremendous loss for the station but his new role was a source of "great pride''.
