in Kenya when they beat Denmark by six wickets in their final Group D match.

The win enabled Bermuda to emerge as the top team in their group with four wins from four matches. As winners of their group Bermuda avoided being put in the other quarter-final group which comprises three of the top teams, number one seeds Holland, Bangladesh and hosts Kenya. Hong Kong, who finished second in Bermuda's group, is the other team in that group.

After restricting Denmark to just 183 for seven from their 50 overs, Bermuda replied with 183 for four with Clay Smith leading the batting with 51 while opener Dexter Smith hit 31.

It was then left to cousins Charlie Marshall (48 not out) and veteran Noel Gibbons (38 not out) to steer Bermuda to victory which sparked off celebrations in their camp.

Bermuda will now join the United Arab Emirates, the surprise team in the tournament, Ireland and Canada in the other quarter-final group which involves three more round-robin matches. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals.

The top three teams (the two finalists and the third place playoff winners) will advance to the World Cup in 1996 in Pakistan, Sri Lanka and India which will also involve the nine Test-playing countries.
