The 22-year-old student qualified for the world championships and will compete in a team race with the International Luge Federation.

Singleton, in his final year of university in North Carolina, has been training on luge tracks after training with the Korean and Taiwanese national teams in November.

The son of Derek and Sallie Singleton of Southampton, he spent his Christmas break painting roofs in Bermuda to held raise money for his training. Classes are currently in recess between winter and spring semesters.
