Red Ribbon Campaign
Ribbon Campaign'' from Friday, October 23 through October 31.
PRIDE programme director Patricia Pogson explained: "The Red Ribbon is a catalyst and symbol for the many people who show that ribbon by ribbon, neighbour by neighbour, they are united for drug free youth.'' The Red Ribbon celebration starts with the smallest gesture: A child pinning a red ribbon to his shirt; A young girl wearing a red ribbon wristband; A classroom planting red tulips; A business displaying a red ribbon banner; or a community hosting a red ribbon family event.
These are simple acts yet the significance is tremendous. Each red ribbon has the potential to reach a boy, a girl, a caring adult or a family in a profound way.
Bermuda's red ribbon kickoff starts on Friday, October 23 at 11.15 a.m. on the steps of City Hall where Premier Pamela Gordon will proclaim the official beginning of Red Ribbon Week. Please refer to the weekly calendar of events on this page for other events.
