Swearing at Police officers cost a Sandys man $100 in Magistrates' Court yesterday.
Dean S. Burgess, 32, pleaded guilty to using offensive words.
Prosecutor Insp. Peter Duffy told the court that on April 16 at 2.30 a.m.
on Mangrove Bay Road, Burgess was lying on a wall next to the bus shelter.
"Officers called out to Burgess but he did not say anything. They approached him, and their conversation resulted in Burgess swearing at them,'' Insp.
Duffy said.
Insp. Duffy added that Burgess had a history of this sort of behaviour.
Seventeen year-old Earl Smith also pleaded guilty to using offensive words after swearing at Police.
Insp. Peter Duffy told the court that on April 6 at 4 p.m. Smith, of Farm Lane, Warwick, was stopped by Police for traffic offences.
As Smith walked away from the officers he swore at them.
Mr. Francis gave Smith a conditional discharge and told him that he should not take his aggression out on the Police.
