Jessica Sousa, of Sharks Swim Club, set a new age group record for the 100 metres backstroke for nine to 10-year-olds, during Saturday's second Bermuda
Sousa recorded a time of one minute, 29.12 seconds, to shave over two seconds off the previous record set by Carola Cooper in 1987.
Also enjoying fine performances were Stephen Fahy and Nuri Latham, both of whom swam triple `A' times. Fahy clocked 2:05.89 in the 200 metres freestyle, while Latham finished the 100 metres breaststroke in 1:33.41.
Thirteen competitors achieved double `A' times and 15 bettered the `A' requirement.
The meet followed the Bermuda national squad's return from competing at the Waterloo Invitational, where five swimmers attained the triple `A' mark.
The third leg of the Spring Series is scheduled for June 5, with a 12.30 p.m.
warm-up and 1.30 p.m. start.
CRICKET CRI The Bermuda national squad will resume training today at the Olympic Club (7 p.m.) and tomorrow at Sea Breeze Oval (6 p.m.).
There will be a meeting for the Under 19 national squad today at the BCBC office (6 p.m.).

SAILING SLG The 12th annual small craft regatta, sponsored by Cosmopolitan Liquors and St.
Pauli Girl Beer, will be held at the public dock in St. David's at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
There will be competition in rowing, sculling and sailing for men, women and children in the traditional working boats.
