Accountants Patrick Hackenberg and Julie Henderson will be volunteering their time and expertise on the first two days of April. Those needing assistance can contact the Consulate to schedule an appointment.

Deputy principal officer Bruce Berton said that due to budget cuts, the US Internal Revenue Service (IRS) had discontinued a programme in which they would send a representative here to assist US residents. Mr. Berton said, "We will have the pleasure of hosting Mr. Hackenberg and Ms Henderson, whose services last April received nothing but rave reviews.

"The only caution I must give is that neither of these experts are associated with the IRS or with the US government. They are simply volunteering their time as a public service, and we are more than happy to provide them with the necessary space.'' Mr. Hackenberg is a CPA and the director of tax services at the Bermuda office of Ernst & Young.
