a drunken driver.

Police spokesperson Evelyn James Barnett said the officers watched the man as he eyed the driver who was parked in a nearby van.

"The man was apparently incapable and slumped over the wheel of the van,'' she said.

"The suspect then leaned into the van attempting to steal from the driver. He then went around to the passenger side of the vehicle, returned to the driver's side, reached in and appeared to steal something.'' Mrs. James Barnett said Police arrested the man when he started to run off.

A wallet belonging to the driver was found on him.

Both the suspect and the van driver were taken to the Hamilton Police Station.

Investigations were continuing.
