Sunday's junior optimist sailing in Hamilton Harbour saw Alex Lines manage to hold his lead over A.J.Crane to win the day's events and the overall series.
Allison Petty placed second for the day.
Two more race days remain in the series which ends on December 3.
The weekend racing followed five days of intensive training by ten of the advanced junior sailors in windy conditions which some might previously have thought unsailable. But with their level of skill increased considerably through the programme, most learned that sailing in heavy air could be fun.
Only two capsizes were recorded although there was a lot of bailing with Alexander Kirkland receiving the golden bailer award as he often appeared to have more water in his boat than any of the others.
Lack of wind put paid to local windsurfers' hopes of racing on Sunday.
The Bermuda Board Sailing Association were forced to postpone their scheduled racing and will now prepare for next Sunday's Somerset Long Bay `Winduro' when the format will call for three 20-minute endurance races.
Prizes will be awarded by draw in order to encourage as many entrants as possible, although awards will also go to the first, second and third-placed sailors.
CROSS COUNTRY CC A mix-up in communication caused several runners to turn up for last Saturday's cross country meet at Spittal Pond which had, in fact, been postponed.
Both the junior and senior races will now be held this Saturday at Spittal Pond, starting at 9.00 a.m.
