Leighton Rochester called to Jamaica Bar

Mr. Rochester, a Bermudian from Hamilton Parish, spent 20 years in radio and television at the Bermuda Broadcasting Company Ltd., operators of ZBM, and the former Capital Broadcasting Company Ltd., better know as ZFB.

Mr. Rochester, a Bermudian from Hamilton Parish, spent 20 years in radio and television at the Bermuda Broadcasting Company Ltd., operators of ZBM, and the former Capital Broadcasting Company Ltd., better know as ZFB.

A graduate of the Norman Manley Law School at the University of the West Indies, Mr. Rochester was called to the Bar on Thursday before Mr. Justice Ellis at the Supreme Court in Kingston.

He also has a degree in law from the University of London.

Asked about highlights of his career in broadcasting, Mr. Rochester cited being the recipient of the VISNEWS Fellowship in International Television Journalism in 1978, as well as an award he received from the Salvation Army for his contribution to the Bermudian community.

Mr. Rochester left Bermuda in the early 1980s.
