AICO hang on in tense affair
narrowed, however, this was more due to what did not happen rather than what actually took place.
Leaders 7-Up Netts and PCC had their match postponed, allowing the opportunity for others to take advantage and improve their positions.
AICO moved past PCC to within two points of 7-Up Netts after a tense match against Cardinals which was won 36-32 by AICO.
Tied after the first and second quarters at nine and 14 respectively, AICO managed to pull ahead in the third and held on for the final result.
Key shooting by Debbie DeShields, who notched 28 goals, and Vernelle Flood (eight) off-set a 21-point effort from Cardinals' Carol Bean and Penny Moore's 11.
At the same time Hamilton Parish were making a mockery of North Village, defeating the latter 60-31 on the eastern court for their fourth win of the season.
A stunning shooting display by Alex Dowling keyed the Parish attack as she tallied a whopping 43 goals to personally outscore the entire opposing team.
And on the odd occasion Dowling failed to get off a shot, team-mate Jadiheda Harvey was there to pick up the slack, winding up with 17 goals to her credit.
Nicole Jennings (23) and Nikita Trott (eight) offered token resistance for the losers, but this match was essentially over by halftime when Parish led 35-16.
Another lopsided result witnessed Olympic Panthers finding a happy hunting ground in taking the court against bottom club Warwick Redbirds.
Panthers scored an easy 35-15 triumph to maintain their mid-table position.
Dawn Symonds utilised the moment to the fullest, sizing the opportunity in facing a weak defence that has now conceded 334 goals to score 32 of her own.
Sunday similarly saw a plethora of off centre-score-lines as 7-Up Netts, Olympic Panthers and Netts all strolled to simple wins.
Netts perpetuated the misery of Cooper & Lines with a 68-23 victory with Kimale Pitt (37) and Gina Christopher (31) both in fine form.
However, Cooper & Lines could take solace in their highest point output as Julie Richardson sunk 14 shots, while Elaine Simmons added nine.
No mercy was shown by 7-Up Netts against AICO as the former blasted the latter 49-4.
Remaining matches had Olympic Panthers outlast Wolves 37-21, while the scheduled encounter between PCC and Boulevard was declared a tie after neither could field a team.
