Arrested for `weed'

stopped him twice on his auxiliary cycle and found six manila envelopes containing plant material in his pocket.

The man was stopped and his vehicle was checked after he was found loitering near a parking lot on Washington Street.

When the officers left the spot the man returned to it briefly then rode east along Dundonald Street where he was stopped for a second time.

This time he tried to conceal a plastic bag in his pants pocket, but was unsuccessful and the officers arrested him for obstruction.

They discovered that the bag held six manila envelopes containing plant material and they took the man to Hamilton Police Station for further questioning.

WOMAN ASSAULTED CRM Woman assaulted A woman was treated at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital on Sunday night after Police officers received reports that she was assaulted.

The officers assisted her on the roadside near the corner of Curving Avenue and King Street in Pembroke at 10.30 p.m. after finding her with a cut on her forehead.
