At the recent prizegiving ceremonies, Matthews was praised by her coach after Albert finished third out of 17 teams in their division.

Also, in recognition of her academic achievements, Matthews was named to Albert College's Outstanding Effort List for September, October and November of this year.

Matthews previously played for Swifts in the Bermuda Ladies Hockey League.
