with multiple injuries, after falling some 20 feet on a US Navy ship.

USNAS local spokeswoman Ensign Marie McGahan said the woman, whose name or age was not known, was aboard the US Navy auxiliary ship Merrimac , which was some 20 miles off Bermuda, when she slipped from the ship's yardarm and hit the deck.

In addition to unspecified internal injuries, the woman suffered a broken wrist and ankle.

The US helicopter "Bermuda One'' picked her up about 9.30 a.m. yesterday.

Two of three men involved in a head-on collision on Sunday near PHC Stadium in Warwick remained in King Edward VII Memorial Hospital yesterday.

The 49-year-old Warwick man, who had been driving a white Ford Laser west on Middle Road at the time of the accident, was last night listed in stable condition in the hospital's Intensive Care Unit.

The driver of the other car travelling east, a 28-year-old Singapore national, was in satisfactory condition on a general ward with back and head injuries.

His 28-year-old passenger, also from Singapore, was discharged after receiving treatment for face and arm bruises.

The accident occurred around 5.10 p.m. and caused a massive traffic jam with roads being blocked off for more than two hours.

Anyone with information on the accident was asked to contact P.c. Gary Holberry at the Somerset Police Station.
