Message from the premier

nightmare --

nightmare -- if only because they are then confronted with the challenge of having to come up with all kinds of creative activities to keep their youngsters fully occupied during their break from their studies This year there is relief in sight for such parents. In cooperation with the Women's Advisory Council, The Royal Gazette has undertaken to produce this special supplement highlighting the various activities which youngsters can enjoy during the summer holidays.

This cannot have been an easy exercise, but The Royal Gazette and the Women's Advisory Council are to be highly commended for producing such a useful guide which, I am sure, all parents will welcome.

The range of activities is enormous and I am confident that every youngster will be able to find something which piques their interest and excitement.

It is to be hoped that, if the special supplement is as successful as I believe it will be -- and deserves to be -- that the publication of such a useful reference work will become an annual venture.

I congratulate The Royal Gazette and the Women's Advisory Council and feel certain that many parents will now face the long summer holidays with a rather greater degree of confidence and assurance than might otherwise have been the case.

The Hon. Sir. John Swan.
