The courses include introductory and intermediate business and securities valuation, law and valuation, litigation and special topics covering areas such as mergers and acquisitions, divestitures and financing. The practical experience requirement is two years full-time or five years part-time.

The CICBV, the largest professional valuation organisation in Canada, was established to promote high standards in business and securities valuations.

The Institute membership of some 700 provide business valuation services and has a code of ethics, while issuing valuation practice standards and disciplinary procedures.
