The new Rubis gas station on South Shore, Warwick officially opened yesterday, with a food concession operated by MEF Ltd.Gold Coast Express serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and operates whenever the gas station is open, from around 6.30am to at least midnight, executive chef Danny Lim said.Breakfast includes speciality coffees, and everything from egg sandwiches, scones, oatmeal and codfish breakfasts on the weekend days.Mr Lim said the cafe will be serving up buffet-style meals including dishes from local, Indian and Chinese cuisine, along with panini sandwiches, wraps, soups and salads made to order.”The reception has been wonderful today,” he said. “We have had tourists, locals, a mix of everybody. Business has been good.”Gold Coast Express has a staff of four currently and all the food is made on premises.
