Lost At Sea
The boat turned over. We didn't see land and struggled to get into our raft.
Luckily no-one was hurt, but I was very, very scared. We drifted for hours not knowing where we were going. We heard a plane and looked for our flares but they were wet. Soon night came. I began to cry, thinking I would never see my parents again! The wind and waves were hitting us, somehow I was so tired. I fell asleep. Rescue planes and boats were looking for us but could not find us.
Suddenly I was awakened by water splashing on my face, it was raining, but I could see lights. We were in sight of land. It was still dark. After many hours, a large fishing boat came towards us. It was near dawn. We were taken on board. Then the captain radioed to shore saying we were found. We were taken to safety, and I was the happiest person in the world to see my parents and to be on land.
BY STEPHANIE LEE Age: 9 Paget Primary School A HOMELESS PERSON A Homeless Person I am homeless and I live on the streets. Sometimes I have a place to go and sometimes I don't eat. I move from place to place looking for somewhere to sleep. Then when I find it I lie down in the cold winter air, or in the summer heat, and I close my eyes and sleep. I dream of a house I could have, and a family or a feast I could enjoy. Then I wake up and realise it's just another day for me to walk the streets. Sometimes people give me change, and sometimes people ignore me. I often get my feelings hurt because of what people think about me. I wonder sometimes how they would feel if they were just like me, living in the streets.
BY PAULA DAYLE Sandys Secondary School WORLD PEACE World Peace If the world was peaceful the world would be a happy place to live. To keep our world a happy place we must cooperate.
We must make this place non-violent and there will be harmony. If there was equality, everyone would have the same rights.
Our world would be a lot better if there was friendship, prosperity, and if we had freedom.
Peace is a good thing. It would be better if we had peace. I am glad world war doesn't exist. We will try to make our world a peaceful place.
