Royal Caribbean to buy second new ship

Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., which carries more passengers than any other single cruise line, has confirmed its "Project Vision'' order of a second ship from Chantiers de l`Atlantique shipyard in St. Nazaire, France.

RCCL, which owns the Song of America , leaving Hamilton tomorrow, signed contracts for the construction of two 70,000 ton, 1,800 passenger cruise ships, with an option to order a third in March.

Under the terms of the contract the company had a right to cancel the order for the second ship. However, it decided to go ahead with the scheme as the world climbs out of the recession.

RCCL chairman and chief executive officer Mr. Richard Fain said: "The company is delighted to solidify our strong commitment to the future of the cruise industry.

Carnival Corp. with its four subsidiaries and affiliates is considered the largest cruise company overall.
