Fair vs. parade
be a Fair. It wasn't really a fair though. All we had was a cakewalk and a haunted house. In the afternoon there was a parade. It involved the school children dressing in a costume of their choice. You would walk around the field once and sit down by class order. Next the teachers would call off (class by class) the winners. There would be about three in each year.
Afterward we would all head home.
This year we had a new thing. You could come dressed up as a famous black person. Then we went to the assembly hall. You went class by class onto the stage, telling people who they were and what they were famous for. Everybody would get a small something.
Later on at 1;30 p.m. we all went outside. We brought money of course. Then a teacher changed up our money. The P6's went to Mr. Simon and he split most of them in groups of two. Each two got a stall. They manned that stall and showed people how to do it. In the end, the P6's who helped got a small something that was left over.
I believe that the fair they did this year was so much better! I believe this because I hated sitting in the hot sun. I never ever won a prize. So it didn't mean much to me. I felt a lot better helping out in a stall. It was fun to watch how good people were. I also believe the younger children had fun playing the games more than just dressing up. Also nobody who dressed up got neglected. The younger children in P1 probably like getting pencils. Even though I did not dress up I found it fun to see what everybody else was! Please do not change the way you did it this time! Kayla A. Jackson, West End Primary EDUCATION MONTH MINI SUPPLEMENT ED
