The Caribbean Satellite Network will send out "roots'' music videos and special jazz, blues and reggae concerts to an international audience.
Arrangements are being made with local television stations, although Bermuda Cablevision has not yet been approached.
CSN covers the entire Caribbean area, the United States, Southern Canada, Western Europe, Mexico, Central America and northern parts of South America.
Spokesman Mr. Ray Chanaud said: "Roots music has become one of the most popular forms of music entertainment for many people throughout the world.
"From its African roots has come reggae, calypso, jazz, blues, gospel, soca and ska.
"CSN `video jockeys' will present this type of entertainment programming 24 hours a day.'' President of the network is Delroy Cowan, a Jamaican businessman who founded Coney Park, the Caribbean's largest entertainment complex.
CSN is expected to go on air on December 1.
