Police prepare now to avoid Cup Match traffic tie-ups
Police yesterday released an advisory on the upcoming annual Cup Match.
The event will this year be hosted by St. George's Cricket Club at Wellington Oval on July 29 and 30.
During the first day, a ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. to recognise and award past Cup Match players and the game will commence at 10 a.m.
Stumps will be drawn at 7.30 p.m. with play resuming the following day at 10 a.m. The game will end 20 overs after 6.30 p.m. unless close of play comes earlier.
Following the conclusion of the game on July 30, a soca concert will be held at the club between 8.30 p.m. and midnight.
Parking and traffic to and from the game will be monitored by Police.
Parking will be available as normal at Mullett Bay Park, Wellington, Tiger Bay and Penno's Wharf plus at Kindley Community Field with a park and ride service to Wellington Oval.
As usual, St. John's first-aid post and ambulance will be on hand at the ground.
