The circus has come to Bermuda! Or at least a small section of it has.

Two world renowned acrobats have arrived on the Island to give thrill seeking spectators a show they will never forget tonight and tomorrow evening.

The show, entitled "Acrobatics, Magic and Mime'', features touring performers Hayward Coleman and Star Townshend giving what they call, "a highly visual show for the entire family''.

Beginning at 7.30 p.m. in the City Hall Auditorium, the show will present a mixture of yoga-mime, magic and comedy with interweaving acrobatics and a few bullwhip demonstrations thrown in.

Mr. Coleman said: "Our technique is most akin to the type of thing audiences would see in the Cirque du Soleil.'' The show was apparently written by the performers themselves, and although Mr.

Coleman did train under the world famous mime artist Marcel Marceau, it does not feature what could be considered "conventional mime''.

"We wrote the whole thing ourselves and I suppose the best way to describe it would be `alternative mime','' he said. "For example there will be speaking throughout and we will try to involve the audience at various points.'' The couple, who are staying on the Island until Sunday, have been performing for the last few months in different parts of the US.

They were brought out to Bermuda by local African Dance Company member Larry Trott after he saw them performing in Atlanta, Georgia. He described how he spent six-week period in Ghana and decided on organising a show whose proceeds would go towards building a school there.

Tickets for tonight's and tomorrow's shows are available from Nature's Chi in Washington Mall, Afrique Bermuda in St. George's, and Integrated Arts Healing for $25 or at the door for $30.
