Bus driver due to be released

after undergoing stitches to head and neck wounds she suffered when she jumped from a bus on Tuesday afternoon.

Ms Evans jumped out of the bus when she lost control of it shortly after leaving the stop opposite Bishop Spencer Road in Pembroke. There were no passengers on board.

The out-of-control bus careened west down Marsh Folly road smashing into houses, a road sign and eventually coming to a stop after slamming into a telephone pole. Ms Evans was the only person injured.

Police and Public Transportation Board mechanics are still investigating what caused Ms Evans to lose control of the bus. An official report is expected next week.
